The best moment of PK Electrical's Denver celebration happened at the gift table. Karen Purcell founded the firm 30 years ago with a single employee; today it's more than fifty professionals across Reno, Denver, and St. Louis. And there she was at her own party, scooping up handfuls of anniversary gifts to press into people's hands, while her team cheerfully enforced the per-guest limit on their own founder. Rules are rules, even when your initials are on the building.
That's the thing about a milestone like this one. You can read "30 years" on a banner, or you can watch it: the photo wall tracing three decades, the handshake with a founder who still lights up at her company's story, a room that filled through the afternoon with the employees and clients that story happened with. Denver was the second stop on PK's three-city anniversary tour, after Reno and ahead of St. Louis, and the Denver chapter of the story runs back to 2012.
Wired for success, literally
PK is an electrical engineering firm, so the brief practically wrote itself. The anniversary collection carried a "wired for success" thread through the pieces: a tote, a translucent light-up speaker, a charger, a pen, a towel, a journal, stickers, all carrying the 30-year mark. Not a pile of giveaways; a set, designed so the milestone outlives the party on desks and in daily life rather than in a drawer.
The crowd picked its favorite fast. Before one guest knew who we were, they were telling us about "this one thing that's really cool": the charger. Of course it was. Hand an electrical engineering crowd a beautifully made piece of charging hardware and something clicks. The best swag doesn't fight the audience; it agrees with them.
Why we were in the room
We were there because this is what event merch looks like when it's treated as part of the event, not an afterthought: a brief first, a collection built for the moment, and people on the ground to see what actually lands. Client celebrations sit right where our work on recognition and appreciation lives: the company saying thank you to the people its milestone belongs to.
